    Helion Pants

I love these pants. The fit and color are perfect ( large grey) I was able to use them ,in a winter campout, and never once got cold in -10 F. Once again Defense Mechanisms knocked it out of the ballpark I have purchased several items from them and each one has been beyond perfect and customer service is top notch. I will continue to support these guys every chance I get

So far I love these parts, they offer a great balance between warmth to weight. They kept me really warm during a 3 day CQB class with Alliance Police Training. It rained a bit, we had snow on two of the three days which was pretty moderate. These did not get soaked during the time there and held up really well. Easy to slip on over the boots and sits perfectly under the battle belt and allows you to easily dawn and doaf them as needed. Temperatures dropped to the lower twenties and the wind was pretty high at times and these offered good protection from the wind. I was able to wear these over some jeans and cargo pants and be just fin during my time at the class. When we were inside the class room they didn't get hot due to the ability to unzip the sides of the pants to my desired level and allow them to vent and keep myself from overheating to much in a heated class room. I would highly recommend them to anyone who would want a good pair of insulated pull on pants for hiking, camping, training classes and music more. Very versatile piece of gear for sure and definitely worth the money.

5'8". 150lbs. 38 chest. Size 30x32 pants. Ranger green, size small. Seems to be of good quality, did not have any stray threads or manufacturing blemishes out of the box. Zippers are smooth and easy. Fit is correct to sizing chart, with plenty of stretch if I gain a bit of weight, and elasticity in waist was firm, no issues with them sliding down as I walked or moved around. Fit in legs was slim, which I like, but still had plenty of room for layering though. Decided to wear both the helion pants and helion jacket for a recent winter coyote hunt/camp weekend here in Wisconsin. Temps were around 15°F with a wind chill making it "feel like" 4°F and a few inches of snow on the ground. The jacket and pants did well to keep me warm. Definitely helped block the wind very well. Kept the pants on during the camping part of the weekend, folded the jacket into its own hood and used it as a pillow. Slept under a tarp shelter and in a winter sleep system (goretex bivy, sleeping pad, sleeping bag). Even unzipped the pants sides during the night. *I did wear a few layers under the jacket and pants. Wool top and bottom base layer, jeans and flannel midlayer, then a fleece zip up w/out hood. So the whole system helped keep me warm, but I understand I was testing the jacket and pants well below it's intended temperature expectation so layering was needed. All in all, I still gave it 5 stars as it seems to be quality, fits perfect for me, and complimented my winter set up well. Would definitely recommend.
