Mission Essential Plate Carrier - MEPC - Closeout

Been wearing this vest daily for a few months now and its pretty comfortable. I run it with the elastic band cummerbund and dont ever really feel the weight digging into anywhere specific. Now i dont know if this is because of my cummerbund choice but i do feel like it lacks breathability. I also work in the desert so its alaways hot here but i dont feel like it gets much aurflow under the plates. Besides that the construction is top notch , the weight is non existent and the durability so far has been outstanding.

First off, I’ve purchased 3 plate carriers before the mepc and let me tell you right this is my 4th and final plate carrier I was extremely happy and impressed by the quality and light weight of this carrier, defense mechanism is by far the best company that makes high quality tactical gear at affordable prices and I would recommend them to anyone. Currently using this for military work, about a month in now. It is much lighter than I thought it’d be, so pleasantly surprised. It’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it so far and feels like it can take plenty more. My only complain is that I feel my plates could be more secure, but I don’t have any worry about them moving or shifting or anything. Overall I am very satisfied.

My order consisted of a pretty basic setup with the MEPC, 4 inch elastic cummerbund + taktic buckles, 3 ar magazine placard, double pistol mag pouch, half pocket, and a placard wrap. First impressions are really good. Everything seems to be sewn well and it looks solidly put together. The tactic buckles are quick and easy to use and I'm hoping they hold up. Turn around time on the order was good (3 weeks) and shipping was really fast. The customization options with this setup are really nice and it looks like you can really tailor it for specific jobs. As this will be riding shotgun in my squad car i wanted a minimalistic setup and somthing that was quick to put on which this seems to do. I found fits well over my external vest carrier as well. I wish they offered some law enforcement patches fit specificly for the velcro area on the chest, but I was able to find some elsewhere relatively easy. Will be ordering a flashlight and tourniquet expansion in the future. Thanks DM!

I've been a fan of DM since picking up a Helion jacket and the MEPC doesn't disappoint. I have other carriers and this one is my favorite. It not only fits great but it's the top quality you would expect from DM. Love how you can build it out to your needs. It's such a great value, everyone should have one of these.

I’ve ordered a few different items from DM. So far everything is great. Great quality, and they make everything to order so you don’t have to wait for things to come back in stock. The wait is about 4 or 5 weeks depending on what you order but they have to make it after they get the order unless it’s in stock. Also as a law enforcement officer the fact they they have items specific to law enforcement is great most companies and websites focus on military which leaves law enforcement as a forgotten opportunity. For example they have handcuff pouches, OC pouches, Baton pouches, etc. I’m really impressed so far. A friend from work told me I should look into DM for a plate carrier instead of the carrier I was going to buy, best decision for sure. I can’t recommend DM enough, great products, great company. In my opinion DM in general is great, I’m going to be sticking with them in the future. I highly recommend defense mechanisms.

I’ve had a Mayflower and a JPC, this is lighter and well thought out with excellent build quality.

The MEPC lives to its acronym with the diversity in setup options, me personally I run the molle configuration front and back for the purpose of building up with the ROC Buckle 3in cummerbund. It plays so well with so many placards, and even shows a lot of compatibility with Ferro Slickster and other retrofit cummerbunds; which means you can look at aftermarket options to build your kit unlike a few other carriers on the market. Standing at 5’10, 150lbs, the medium fits me so well I don’t feel any discomfort running hoplite lvl 4s. I will admit I did get the shoulder sleeves for comfort (they also have routing for comms). It digs into your shoulders the same way a slickster would. Stitching was impeccable, and platebags sat flush no issue. I’d recommend this as a first time carrier, especially for those who don’t need the slickest carrier or something with an excess of real estate for accessories. Only complaint so far is that the bags are very tight, which means I had to just split and tape up some boogie board to create comfort pads at most ones on the market right now are sadly too thick.

High quality product for a price that beats its competitors. Everything from the design and materials used to the stitching is well thought out and expertly manufactured.
